Beyond the Basics of the Cricut

Go beyond the basics and learn new and amazing techniques. Learn about the deep cut blade, the Cricut pens, making vinyl stencils, card/envelope making and more! We've squeezed 5 different project classes into one comprehensive 3 hour class!

Please bring to class: your Cricut machine plus mat, regular and deep cut blades and housings, (recommend having replacement blades), Zig 2-way glue pen, set of Cricut inks (your choice of colors), 12x12 sheet of vinyl, 9x12 colored metal sheet, a cereal or cracker box (as chipboard) - the more colorful the better (will have some available at no cost if needed), 12x12 sheet of plastic paper, 10 spare photos (not irreplacable!), 12 sheets of 12x12 cardstock, 2 bottles of Stickles (recommend one of them be Diamond), Cartridges: any character (ie Mickey Mouse), a font cartridge and Accent Essentials.

Card Making Class

In this class you will make 12 beautiful all-occasion cards, and you will have lots of paper and embellishments left over to make even more!. July we will be featuring the Max and Whiskers line of Basic Grey which features rich browns, oranges, reds and greens!

Please bring to class with you, your favorite cutter, scissors, adhesive, corner rounder and 3-D dots, white gel pen, plus Diamond and Lime Green stickles. If you don't have stickles, you can get them at The Craft Retreat before class.

The remaining supplies will be furnished for you.

Card Making Class - Holiday!

In this class you will make 12 beautiful cards, and you will have lots of paper and embellishments left over to make even more!. In August we will be featuring the Eskimo Kisses line of Basic Grey which features rich burgundy, silvery blue, reds and greens.

Please bring to class with you, your favorite cutter, scissors, adhesive, corner rounder and 3-D dots, white gel pen, plus Diamond and Burgundy stickles. If you don't have stickles, you can get them at The Craft Retreat before class.

Cricut A-Z Instructions

Finally a comprehensive Cricut class! Is your Cricut sitting in a closet waiting to be figured out? Dust it off and bring it to class with you, as you will be learning all about the Cricut using your very own machine. You will touch every button, learn some tips and tricks along the way and complete a project in class.

Please bring your Cricut, the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge, the cricut tool kit if you have one, a cutting mat and cutter (spares are always recommended), 2 pieces of Bazzill cardstock and an EK Success dual glue stick (widest tip) to class with you. (We have them at The Craft Retreat if you don't have one)

If you sign up for the Beyond the Basics class too we will reduce this class fee to $25.00! Just call the store to register for both!

Crochet Basics

Learn to crochet...or just get help with a current project.

For beginners please bring with you to class:
J or K Crochet Hook
1 skein of sport or worsted weight yarn, preferably light in color

For repeat or experienced crocheters please bring to class:
the project you're working on with instructions if possible.

Digital Scrapbooking Basics

Want to learn how to Digital Scrapbook with an online program? Do you have photos on your hard drive that you would like to showcase? We'll help you turn your photos into professionally bound storybooks, cards, posters and many other fabulous things. If you have printed photos that you would like to use in your Digital Scrapbooks, we can help with that too! There will be a high speed scanner available to use during class for just $.019 per scan.

If you have a laptop with wi-fi capabilities, bring it to class with you and we'll get you started. If not, that's okay. Just come and learn and then you'll be able to apply your new skill at home on your PC.

Indian Summer Mini Album

Join us in making this eclectic chocolate album, rich with fall colors. It's a great combination of elegance and whimsy.

Bring your scissors, wet glue (we used Zip Dry) and a pencil plus a black gel pen and Burgundy Stickles.

Ink Art

Doodling is raised to a high art form in this class. Learn to make pattern fills and use them creatively to make your own fascinating drawings, with new patterns featured each month. After the first class you'll be hooked and will want to sign up every month!

Please bring a #2 pencil and 01 and 05 black Zig pens to class with you. These can be purchased at The Craft Retreat prior to class if you don't have them. All other supplies will be furnished.

Metal Embossed Pewter Sampler

Want to learn the basics of metal embossing? This is the class for you! Lynda Abare will be showing you how to create a pewter sampler using the many techniques of metal embossing.

One Stroke Painting

A Level 2 Certified One Stroke instructor is offering classes for all levels. Get in touch with your creative side and have fun! Learn to paint on a variety of surfaces like canvas, paper, glass, candles and even fabric.

Loaner supplies are available for your first class if requested. The basic supply list will be furnished with class registration.

A basic supply kit can be purchased from the instructor with advance notice for $20.

SDU - Scrapbook Design University

Taught at your local craft and scrapbook stores, SDU teaches beginner through advanced scrapbookers the essential scrapbook theories and principles of design. SDU will dramatically enhance the skills of any scrapbooker to create dynamic scrapbook pages.

We have combined this four week course into two Saturday classes! We cover all aspects of scrapbooking from basics to layouts to color to journaling to embellishments!

Bring your notebook, pencil, paper trimmer (if you have one) and 5 to 10 photos to Day 1.
